After this crazy week, let me just say, I much prefer being a snow day forecaster over a smoke day forecaster 🙃
To that end, I have good news: a soaking rain fell on the fires in Canada overnight! Liquid gold.
That means the Hudson Valley can breathe easy (literally): our air is healthy again!
The result of my Air Quality Index graph is pleasing: over the next 48 hours, through early Sunday morning, smoke is NOT EXPECTED near the ground in the Hudson Valley and the air quality will be good 🥳
While the fires are not totally extinguished, their smoke output looks meaningfully reduced for the next little while.
So go ahead. Have that pool party. Run that race. Get outside and enjoy the long June days.
See ya later, smoke.
