Greetings all!
With the festive season officially underway, Mother Nature appears ready to do her part by delivering a little light snow on Sunday morning 🌲 🌨️
What? Light snow.
When? Developing after 2:00 am Sunday from west to east.
How much? A coating up to a half inch or so.
Impact? With sub-freezing temperatures until late morning Sunday, a light but slick coating of snow may develop during the predawn hours on Sunday. Any issues will subside by afternoon as the temperature rises, even if light snow continues, and appear unlikely to redevelop on Sunday night. School delays on Monday look unlikely at this time.
The map below shows the predicted snowfall over the next 48 hours, with the heaviest amounts across upstate NY and west-central PA.
Areas contoured in yellow are forecast to receive more than 1 inch, while areas in orange are forecast to have at least 3 inches of accumulation.
For those traveling back to school upstate, there will likely be a lull during the day on Sunday — after some early morning snow, it will redevelop during the evening hours.
