It’s Friday! 🥳
Before you head off for the weekend, you need to know what you’ll be walking into (or through) on Monday morning, right? Snow!
Don’t worry, I’ve got your back. I’ll be on Twitter posting snow maps. I might make an appearance on TikTok. And on Sunday I’ll post school-by-school delay predictions for Monday.
With the potential for shortened periods on Monday, your quiz may have to be moved to Tuesday 🤓
As of Friday morning, here’s what we know ❄️
What? Light to moderate snow.
When? Starting between 11:00 am - 3:00 pm Sunday from west to east. Falling steadiest in the evening and overnight. Tapering to flurries by daybreak Monday.
How much? 1-3 inches with the highest amounts along and north of I-84 — 2 or 3 inches look more likely than 1. Snowfall may exceed 3 inches in the Catskills. Lower amounts are expected across Rockland and Westchester County.
Will it stick? Near or just above freezing temperatures on Sunday may limit roadway accumulation initially, but sub-freezing temperatures and steadier snow will likely lead to slippery conditions from Sunday evening into Monday morning.
Impact? The potential for snow-covered and slippery roads, especially Sunday evening into Monday morning. Prepare to clean off your car and clear the sidewalks early Monday. The chance for school delays on Monday morning is increasing, particularly along and north of I-84.
I am also monitoring the chance for a storm later next week, with the timing favoring Thursday afternoon into Friday. I’ll have more for premium subscribers tomorrow morning.
All this and the winter solstice is still 12 days away!
Have a good weekend, I’ll be in touch.
You are always spot on!!!
