Well, it doesn’t look like a lot. But during a January when snowflakes are at a premium, I will write about every opportunity for one! ❄️
On Thursday morning, a warm front will approach the Hudson Valley and Catskills from the south, providing the forcing needed to form just a touch of snow 🤏
What? Areas of light snow.
When? 5:00 - 10:00 am Thursday.
How much? A coating to maybe a half inch, with the best chances across higher elevations of the Hudson Valley and Catskills. The map below provides an indication on the distribution of the snow.
Impact? Minor. Main roads should be just wet. Untreated side roads, bridges, overpasses, hilly sections, and sidewalks could become coated during brief periods of steady snow. The timing of the event around the morning commute makes it worth being aware of. Widespread school delays have a relatively low chance on Thursday, but the odds are slightly higher for districts near or in the Catskills.

Any snow will change to rain in most places by late Thursday morning, which will continue into early Friday morning. Dry weather is forecast over the weekend 🌤️
