Greetings! After a coating of snow for many parts of the Hudson Valley on Sunday evening, precipitation changed to rain overnight as temperatures hovered between 32-34. The Catskills, on the other hand, saw a peristent wintry mix overnight.
It’s not over though! ❄️
Snow is forecast to redevelop across the region this morning between 7:00-10:00 am, from west-to-east, continuing into the early afternoon
Accumulation could reach 1/2 inch per hour from about 8:00 am - noon, leading to the development of slushy, snow-covered road conditions in the mid-to-late morning as well as reduced visibility
For schools that initially call a delay, conditions will probably worsen through the morning, resulting in a potential change to a closing
Improvement is expected in the early-to-mid afternoon, from west-to-east, as snow rates ease
Take care and drive to the conditions!
After a break on Tuesday, the next storm is due in late Wednesday morning, probably after 10:00 am.
A moderate accumulation of 2-5 inches is forecast across the entire region before a changeover to a wintry mix on Wednesday evening and then rain overnight.
More to come on a wintry weather Wednesday! ☃️
