π΄ Hello and welcome to the jungle! The Hudson jungle, that is. Between the frequent rain drops, claps of thunder, flashes of lightning, high humidity, and rather cloudy conditions, our classic summer weather has gone missing and a search party is being assembled.
Instead, we have something akin to a rain forest. Your plants will love it, the bugs will love it, but you may not π₯΅
Hope you like it humid π«
The good news? Concerns of drought are washing away π§οΈ
Itβs all occurring amid a very disjointed jet stream pattern in the Northern Hemisphere, associated with locally extreme conditions β like a marine heatwave in the North Atlantic, remarkably hot conditions in Texas, and continued, widespread wildfire activity in Canada.
For us, a preponderance of southerly wind flows over the next week will keep the smoke away, but a future return is not out of the question.
Monday: very humid with scattered showers and thunderstorms, some could be strong, especially later in the day β‘ π«
Tuesday: similar to Monday β‘ π«
Wednesday: similar to Monday and Tuesday β‘ π«
Thursday: still humid, but shower and thunderstorm activity looks a bit less widespread than previous days
Friday: still a chance for showers and thunderstorms, but activity will be more isolated
Saturday: like Friday
Sunday: extremely humid with a trend toward stormier conditions once again possible π«€
Make no mistake, itβs a tough week for doing things outside, but if I had to pick two days for outdoor activities, right now it would be Friday and Saturday.
π The week of July 3rd looks very humid with frequent showers and thunderstorms once againβ¦
So will the weather get better in July? And why so stormy? I have some extra content for premium subscribers below.
Stay π this week! βοΈ
