To rain or not to rain? That is the question.
The Hudson Valley could use the rain. This month, there’s been at most a half inch of rain. It’s dry out there and river levels are retreating.
A tropical storm may form near the Carolinas later today or early Monday, but our high pressure force field will remain strong, keeping the rain at bay through most of Tuesday — at least.
Depending on how far north the moisture manages to push, some beneficial rain could fall on Wednesday and Thursday, but it’s tenuous…
…because after that, the high pressure force field will return! However, it won’t be all sun and games — persistent northeasterly winds will cause the clouds to hang around later in the week.
One thing is for sure: the weather won’t be as persistently calm and sunny as the last week.
Monday: a dry and sunny start to the week ⭐
Tuesday: increasing clouds, but probably remaining dry
Wednesday: mostly cloudy and cooler with rain or showers possible
Thursday: mostly cloudy, showers may continue
Friday: more clouds than sun, chance for lingering showers
Saturday-Sunday: increasing amounts of sun, turning a bit cooler [note: Sunday is the September equinox and the first day of astronomical fall! 🍂]
Looking ahead to the week of September 23rd, drier than normal conditions are currently favored. However, the tropics near the East Coast may remain active and bear watching. There’s no sign of significantly colder than average temperatures — yet.
