Some hope it will cause early dismissals on Friday.
However, light snow starting around midday Friday may not quite be enough to cause school-related impacts.
Still, I’m keeping an eye on it — it could add up to an inch or two by early Saturday, with less than an inch falling by Friday evening.
For now, I peg the chances for an early dismissal in the Hudson Valley on Friday at about 1-in-3, but slightly higher in the Catskills.
You could use the extra time to wrap gifts, right?
With temperatures near or just above freezing during the day on Friday, roadway accumulation should be minimal, but surfaces could become covered after sunset, which occurs before 4:30 p.m. this time of the year.
Early dismissal or not, remember to travel to the conditions later Friday into Saturday.
Another system could bring flurries or light snow on Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Day — stay tuned for more on that!
Thank you🥰
