Another weekend, another storm for the Hudson Valley!
Had this storm occurred during the week, there would have been early dismissals and delays abound.
A storm later next week may give you another chance for a snow day, but you might be running out of snow days by now 🤷♂️
The weekend storm will start around midday Saturday and continue into early Sunday, bringing a plowable snowfall of 2 to 5 inches followed by a glaze of ice, thickest in the Catskills. There’s a winter weather advisory in effect from noon Saturday through 7:00 a.m. Sunday.
Exactly how much snow falls will be determined by how quickly the change from snow to sleet and freezing rain occurs. Recent storms have shown a tendency to flip to ice rather quickly, keeping snowfall totals down. I wouldn’t be surprised if this one behaves similarly.
