Wednesday weather update
Update #683b: Wet snow will cross the Hudson Valley on Wednesday afternoon and evening, but significant impacts are not expected.
Hi there! This is a quick update about the weather expected on Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Wet snow, mixed with rain, will cross the Hudson Valley from west-to-east between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., bringing the potential for very minor accumulations, mostly to unpaved surfaces.
Since yesterday, forecast temperatures have increased slightly. This decreases the risk for slippery roads.
I’m not expecting widespread school disruptions — with low-end chances for early dismissals — although after school activities may be canceled in some districts.
Main roads should be wet as temperatures will be in the mid-to-upper 30s when precipitation falls, although scattered slick spots are possible in higher elevation areas.
A light, slushy coating to perhaps an inch of snow is possible on grass across most of the Hudson Valley, with 1 to 3 inches across the Catskills.
Adjust your speed to the conditions and drive safely!
Flurries and snow showers are possible in the region on Thursday afternoon followed by another chance for snow late Saturday into Sunday.
