Snow arrives with the new year
Update #686a: Snow will welcome the year 2026 in the Hudson Valley.
Snow will welcome the year 2026 in the Hudson Valley!
It’s expected to fall gently late Wednesday evening, mainly after 7 p.m., before a burst of snow comes just before daybreak — ending by about 7 a.m. Thursday.
Amounts will be light, with snow accumulating a coating to an inch or perhaps two, but it will be enough to cover roads and sidewalks and make them slippery.
Keep this in mind if you’ll be out and about celebrating.
In Times Square, flurries may fly as the clock strikes midnight, with a temperature near 30.
Happy New Year from this corner of the world to yours!
