Hello! Sustained warmth is not yet in Mother Nature’s plans for the Hudson Valley, but Monday-Wednesday isn’t looking too bad.
After the chance for a gusty shower or thunderstorm in the region this (Sunday) afternoon or evening, Monday and Tuesday look to be the warmest days of the week, followed by a cooling trend as a weather system moves in from the west. Next weekend, a more substantial cold front may sweep through.
The region has already experienced about a month’s worth of rain and April isn’t even halfway over, so it goes without saying that a break from the rain is needed!
🌟 Monday: mostly sunny and warm with a breezy afternoon
🌟 Tuesday: plenty of sunshine
Wednesday: increasing clouds with evening or overnight showers likely
Thursday: overcast and cool with rain likely at times
Friday: more clouds than sun, not as cool as Thursday
Saturday-Sunday: showers possible on Saturday, then probably clearing and turning cooler and breezy on Sunday
Looking ahead to the week of April 22nd, conditions are looking to be on the cooler, drier side to start followed by a warming trend toward the end of the month.
The chart below highlights the cooler start to week two, the general lack of rainfall, and increasing temperatures toward the end of the month. This chart updates four times a day on this page.
Sun-kissed in the Pacific 💛
This week I’ve had the pleasure of working from Fiji, where I’m collaborating with Pacific Island meteorological services to develop a new website that hosts crucial climate information.
I’m here for another week, during which I’ll be discussing the climate outlook for this part of the world over the next 3-6 months.
In my spare hours, I’ve been taking in sunsets, sea views, rainbows, and tropical flowers 🌺
The second-to-last photo is of the weather station at the Fiji Meteorological Service, which has consistently been recording highs around 90 and dew points around 80 (very high humidity) this past week.
Stay tuned for more photos! Think tropical this week ✌️
Thanks for sharing your pictures, they are absolutely stunning! Have a wonderful week!
