You can’t get this kind of weather report from the 6 o’clock news!
My travels this week take me to the South Pacific tropics, to the palm-fringed perfection that is Fiji.
It’s not all fun and no work — I’m here to help Pacific Island meteorological services prepare for the impacts of El Niño in the months ahead.
I hope you don’t mind my non-traditional forecast style today… from the beach! 🏖️
Good thing that the forecast is pretty straightforward this week: mostly sunny 😎
Dry conditions are expected from Monday-Friday as temperatures warm well into the 60s — even 70s are looking likely between Wednesday and Friday!
Morning temperatures will be in the mid 30s on Tuesday, but it looks like the region will be frost-free for at least one more week.
The warm, dry weather is favored to continue into next weekend, but…
An Arctic air mass may spill southward across the area during the week of October 30th, bringing sharply cooler conditions and the potential for the first frost 🥶
In case you missed it, my 2023-24 Hudson Valley winter outlook dropped yesterday! Whether you adore snow days or not, it’s a must-read:
My typical weather reporting will resume from next Sunday, October 29th. In the meantime, warm greetings ✌️
Thanks Ben! Great report. Enjoy your time in FiJi. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.
