Literally and figuratively, the weather is just chillin’ this week in the Hudson Valley.
Mother Nature appears to be charging her batteries up to unleash fury at some date in the future, but it’s not happening this week.
While we won’t bask in warmth, but we will bask in general tranquility.
Monday morning looks to be the chilliest of the season so far, dipping into the low-to-mid 20s 🥶
Temperatures will rebound throughout the week before the passage of a single, late-week front, probably from Friday night into Saturday.
Like last week, the snow day gauge is stuck on 0. Better luck next time! 🎰
Monday: quite cold to start before rising into the upper 40s — below average for the time of year; a cold front will pass at night…
Tuesday: partly sunny with a chilly breeze 🎐
Wednesday: cold to start, but plenty of sun ☀️
Thursday: noticeably milder, remaining sunny ☀️
Friday: mild in the lower 60s but with increasing clouds ahead of the next front, rain possible at night
Saturday-Sunday: some rain could be around on Saturday, primarily during the first half of the day (timing not certain as of this writing); Sunday looks dry, cooler, and breezy
🦃 Looking ahead to the week of the 20th and Thanksgiving, it will start cool and dry before a front or storm approaches around the 21st or 22nd. At this point, precipitation looks to be in the form of rain 🌧️
Where to go for the snow? 🤔
Snowfall across the U.S. over the next 10 days looks fairly meager, as illustrated in the image below. The chance for snow during late November may increase over the central states. For the Northeast, there may be a narrow window of possible wintry weather around the turn of the month, but I wouldn’t bet on it at this point!
My winter outlook highlighted the chance for a sluggish start to the snowy season and it’s well worth a read/watch if you haven’t yet.

This week, your view from a far-off place comes from Australia 🦘
My wife Kate was travelling and snapped this shot of North Stradbroke Island, off the coast of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
It doesn’t look like a bad place to spend a weekend 😎
In the upper part of the image, you’ll spot some sand dunes. With Google Maps, I was able to discover the view from the ground. It looks like the type of place you’d rather spend your Sunday 😁
Hope your week is as chill as the weather!
